I have taken a fresh direction in my painting. Remaining firmly grounded in nature, I am turning to flowers-heaping bouquets of abundant flowers. With a wink to the art historical Flemish  flower painters such as Jan Bruegel the Elder, I am combining flowers that bloom in different places and seasons into impossibly shaped towering bouquets. The paintings are modernized with mixed media techniques and materials, modern texture and pattern combinations, and whimsical bright colors. More to come soon.
